Our Curriculum is called “Universal Martial Arts Systems” and is a blend put together by Kevin Johnson based on his training in various arts, experience in teaching martial arts, training with fighters and training Law Enforcement Officers.
Our Lineage comes from “Sarge” Edwards, Larry Hartsell, Dan Inosanto , Ajarn Chai. Kevin Johnson is a Full Instructor under Larry Hartsell and is a member of the Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association.
We practice our own Blend of Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, Submission Wrestling, Kali, Silat, Shooto, Sambo
YES, Women are welcome in Phase and Kali Class
We also offer a separate Women’s Class
We emphasize Direct Application in what we spend our time learning
Rather than learning “Multiple Arts” we stress being able to function in all ranges of Combat, Armed and Unarmed

Standing, Close Range, Ground
Kicking, Punching, Clinching, Takedowns, Grappling
MMA, Boxing and Wrestling are sports that we enjoy and many of our techniques and training methods are from those Sports. But we are very careful to differentiate between SPORT and SURVIVAL.
There are no “Secret Techniques” or Mystical powers,,,
just Fundamental principles of movement and body mechanics that are relevant in all Ranges and apply to all of our Techniques.
We only do things that work AGAINST RESISTANCE
We train WITH CONTACT and always with SAFETY in mind.
Resistance and Intensity is added Gradually and only as much as you are able to handle
Size and Strength matter. Simple Physics.
But the better your timing, strategy, technique and body mechanics, the better your chances of being able to overcome a larger opponent.
Fitness and Conditioning are important!
If you are tired you aren’t Fast, your Technique is bad and you can’t think
